TO OUR PATIENTS
The founders of Franklin Labs LLC are pioneers in the cultivation and dispensation of pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis in states with strictly regulated medical cannabis programs. Licensed to operate in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Colorado, our team has implemented comprehensive, safe, and effective vertically integrated medical marijuana programs in a manner that protects public health and safety. Our clinically-oriented medical model heeds the goals of tracking, compiling, and analyzing patient data to assist with clinical and translational research.
We are led by a dynamic team of seasoned professionals with stellar credentials and diverse backgrounds in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, compliance, law enforcement, government, horticultural production, and agriculture. Our leadership team includes a career DEA Special Agent who rose to the Agency’s highest echelons before heading INTERPOL’s Criminal Intelligence Directorate; a Board-certified physician and hospital executive who recently retired as President of the $4.2 billion MedStar Health system’s subsidiary MedStar Physician Partners (whose interest in the palliative benefits of cannabis was sparked by his daughter, a cancer patient who has benefited from the use of medical cannabis); a Ph.D horticulturist and plant tissue culture scientist; a healthcare lawyer and entrepreneur who is a former information technology CEO and military intelligence veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; and a pharmaceutical chemist with three decades of experience in drug development. Among our organization’s officers, directors, and senior staff, there are five lawyers, three physicians, four veterans, and four minorities (reflective of the organization’s commitment to diversity and equal opportunity).
Our principals also operate Compassionate Care Research Institute, Inc., a nonprofit corporation that is licensed to authorize vertically integrated cultivator and dispensary facilities in New Jersey (where it operates as Garden State Dispensary) and Delaware, and we own one of Colorado’s largest medical cannabis operations, operating seven cultivation facilities and seven dispensaries. Our application for licensure was rated by the State of New Jersey as the highest scoring submission in the state’s competitive and rigorous selection process that only awarded six permits. The principals have also consulted in other states to enable successful licensed cannabis facilities to help patients with debilitating conditions obtain the compassionate relief they deserve.
Notably, four members of our leadership team are all connected to medical cannabis through an immediate family member’s tragic story. There is a genuine belief among the founders, therefore, that the company’s operations neatly juxtapose with exemplary corporate citizenship and making available desperately needed relief to suffering patients, while filling the dearth of publishable research in the field.
In other states, we have completed over 300,000 cannabis transactions and achieved an exemplary record of compliance with state laws and regulations, best sustainable agricultural practices, and cGMPs in our production of exceptionally high quality pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis, as Franklin Labs proposes to do in Pennsylvania’s clinically-oriented, patient-focused model. CCRI’s attention to purity, quality, consistency, and variety has contributed to its garnering a dominant market share among the patient base in the neighboring state of New Jersey.
